![]() ![]() Groundhogs (Somehow all these 3 animals look alike to me, haha. ALL SO CUTE!) Caught the movie "The Great Great World, 大世界" this week. It was a really great show, lots of local actors, based on the history of S'pore, and lastly, a movie filled with the different dialects throughout. Funny why I still thought the show wld not be nice, but thankfully dad insisted on it =) Can't wait for the director to film his next show, where I heard he might be planning to film abt the radio broadcasting history, and perhaps on places that are similar to the Great World, such as New World. Somehow I just love the olden days, simple, easy-going life, not much distractions..maybe tt kind of environment spurred ppl to study harder, hahas. Many things they had during that time are mostly gone now, and some are still present but modified. Went River Hongbao for the first time tdy too, cny goodies being sold there, not that appealing to me. Went bck to Marina Barriage and there was a new hawker centre at the foot of the place. Interesting thing abt the hawker centre is that they decorated it to look quite lyk the olden days, the yummy traditional S'porean food they offer, the old drinks sold in glass bottles served with tin mugs instead of plastic cups. And lastly, they have an area that sells olden days stuff, pics in black n white, old clocks, cameras, telephones( those like walkie talkies..priced at $180), and other antiques dating back during the past of S'pore. Somehow surprised how coincendental it is for me to learn abit more abt S'pore history through the movie and this little place within a few days. Guess I'm kind of into history, love the facts behind things, haha. Anw tdy was a shocking news for me. One of my relatives actually explained the proper pronounciation of my surname. All along I thought it was pronounced as "Jin", but they said it was "Yin". No wonder my report book had all along written my han yu pin ying name as 'Yin Ming Jun Glenden', and I only found it out aft 18yrs, lol. But it sounds rather weird to be called "Yin Ming Jun"..shall see how it goes, whether to stick with the old or the current pronounciation. For the first time also, I just found out that my mother's fav colour is purple, lol. Aft 18yrs too.. 1:17 AM
